20654769-588x750I hang out at the gym a lot. I see guys who walk in every single day who do nothing but lift weights. After a grueling workout session of lifting God-knows-how-many pounds worth of weight, they do something very similar. They will typically walk up to the mirror located on the left-hand side of the gym and flex their muscles. Trouble is, their muscles are buried beneath layers of fat. It’s not my intention to sound disgusting, but let’s be honest — most of these guys are blubber balls who think they can simply grow enough muscle to make the large amounts of fat that they have all over their body seem irrelevant. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The reason why you need fat burning exercises is to help your muscles come out from beneath the shadows. Just imagine how wonderful you will feel if you can walk in front of a mirror and flex your muscles and actually see them! I know what you’re probably thinking: “I don’t have time for an aerobics class.” Really? Have you ever stopped and ask yourself if you really have the time required to be in the gym for hours lifting weights and not really getting the results that you’re looking for? The only reason guys spend an inordinate amount of time lifting weights is so that they can have better muscle definition. But what is the point of doing this if they are not to follow through and do some basic cardiovascular fat burning exercises that will enable their muscles to actually be seen?

You can start by doing some basic aerobics. I’m not suggesting that you need to schedule a separate times during the week to do fat burning exercises such as aerobics — but you need to make some time during your regular workout schedule to actually get into shape.

Here’s the bottom line: one of the oldest lies that guys tell themselves is that the lifting of weights will make their fat go away and help their muscles shine through. This is completely false. You need to spend time doing fat burning exercises if you ever want people to see the muscles that you have developed.
